How Sweet It Is…
“Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.”
Psalm 63:3
What is your favorite type of food?
Maybe your palate leans toward the sweeter side and you can’t get enough sugar, or perhaps it leans salty and you love all things savory.
Personally, if you were to place a piece of cake in front of me and a bag of chips beside it, you could bet your last dollar I’d grab the chips without hesitation (and most likely devour the whole bag) while leaving the cake untouched.
Sweet treats just don’t have the same appeal for me that they seem to have for others.
A Sweet Night at Sheologie
This past Tuesday, the women of Sheologie had the opportunity to decorate slices of sweet vanilla cake with colorful frosting.
Each place setting included a slice of cake, several decorating tools, and a variety of frosting colors. There were even different shades of edible glitter to add a final touch to each lady’s masterpiece.
It was as if each slice of cake became a canvas, except instead of hanging their artwork on the wall, they got to enjoy eating it afterward; and the ladies loved it!
Sweeter Than Cake
God’s love is sweeter than even the prettiest, most delicious slice of cake; and that is one sweet treat I simply cannot get enough of!
So as you go about your day, hum a little tune: “How sweet it is to be loved by YOU” (sung, of course, to the tune of How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You) by Marvin Gaye). Let it remind both you and those around you that we can continue singing praises to Him, even when life gets a little salty.
Nothing Can Separate Us
The cherry on top? There is absolutely nothing that can separate us from the love of God!
Romans 8:38–39 says: “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
How sweet is that, ladies?
Until next time, shine bright, sisters-
Not for praise, but for the One who saves.
