Words Matter
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.”
Proverbs 12:25
Are there times when finding the right words comes easily to you, or do you sometimes have foot-in-mouth moments like yours truly?
Scripture reminds us that our words have consequences; ones that can leave a lasting impact on the people around us (see Proverbs 18:21).
Simply put, our words carry tremendous power.
They can lift someone up or tear someone down in a matter of seconds.
That is why it is so important to be intentional with what we say and how we say it.
We should desire not only to encourage others, but also to make them feel valued and special.
Encouragement in Action
The ladies of Sheologie understand the power of an encouraging word.
On our last night of Bible study, we spent time creating encouragement cards for others.
Some made cards for special friends walking through difficult seasons.
Others created blank cards, choosing to wait until the Lord prompts them to give one away.
I personally made an encouragement card with the words “OPEN ME” written on the envelope. My plan is to leave it somewhere for someone unexpected to find.
Hopefully whoever discovers it will find comfort in the note and Scriptures inside, and enjoy a cup of coffee too, since I tucked in a Starbucks gift card as well.
Small Acts Matter
This world needs kindness and encouragement more than ever, especially when life feels heavy and difficult.
So let’s make it our goal to encourage at least one person today, ladies!
Sometimes the simplest gesture, like a handwritten card, a thoughtful note, or a kind word, can brighten someone’s day and remind them they are not alone.
Until next time, shine bright, sisters-
Not for praise, but for the One who saves.
