Trusting God’s Plan When Life Folds In Unexpected Ways
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28
God has a great sense of humor, don’t you agree?
As the team lead for Sheologie’s DIY team (shout-out to the dream team gals!), I must admit that although I am creative in my own ways, I am far from “crafty.” Yet somehow, I have served in this role for many years.
Thankfully, I have been blessed with an incredible team of ladies. They have helped me step outside of my Type A personality and enjoy the unique beauty of each DIY project we create together.
Sometimes the roles God calls us into don’t always feel comfortable, but they’re often the places where He teaches us the most.
An Origami Attempt
This past Tuesday, we kicked off an incredible night of Bible study with a DIY project that many of you are probably much better at than I am: origami.
I thought folding paper would be calming and therapeutic. But instead, I found myself staring at the instructions wondering how in the world something so simple, like folding paper into a heart, could be so confusing.
Instead of feeling peaceful, I became quite frustrated as a friend and I tried over and over again to get it right.
When Life Folds in Ways We Don’t Expect
As I prepared to write this blog, God reminded me that life can be a lot like origami.
Sometimes life forces us to fold in ways we are not used to or comfortable with. During those seasons, we often cannot see what shape is forming. The folds may feel confusing, unexpected, or even frustrating.
But eventually, we begin to see that the Lord had something better and more beautiful in mind all along.
Scripture reminds us that all things work together for good for those who love God. That does not always mean we will get what we want, but we can trust that God will give us exactly what we need.
Every moment of our lives is lovingly folded into His perfect plan.
Living with a Heart That Folds Toward God’s Plan
Let’s choose to live each day with hearts that fold easily toward the plans God has for us.
Even when we cannot yet see the finished design, we can trust the hands of the One who is shaping our lives.
The Lord is the Master Creator of all things beautiful. After all, He created you!
Until next time, shine bright, sisters-
Not for praise, but for the One who saves.
