Don’t Let The World Dim Your Light
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
Have you ever seen a candle holder that completely blocked the light from shining through?
Probably not. After all, the purpose of a candle holder is to highlight the light within, not hide it.
Did you know that our purpose is much the same? As followers of Christ, we are called to let His light shine through us.
We honor God when we love others well and reflect the heart of Jesus, especially when it feels difficult.
But sometimes, the circumstances of everyday life can sometimes cloud that light; am I right?
Maybe we oversleep and find ourselves rushing out the door, driving a little more aggressively than usual, and forgetting to extend grace to the person who cuts us off in traffic… I am guilty of that!
Shine Through The Challenges
I will be the first to admit that being a light isn’t always easy.
Especially on the days when I haven’t taken the time to sit with God and allow the Light of the Holy Spirit to fill my heart before the day begins.
When I neglect that quiet time with Him, my light tends to flicker.
Just as a candle needs a flame to shine, we need the Holy Spirit to illuminate our hearts and guide our lives.
God calls us to shine boldly, not settle for a dim glow.
Let your light shine so brightly that others see God reflected in your words, actions, and everyday life. Our kindness, patience, compassion, and grace can point people back to Him in ways we may never fully realize.
Let Your Light Shine
Today, take a moment to pause and ask the Lord to help you be a light wherever you go and in whatever you do.
Don’t allow the world to dim the light God has placed within you.
Instead, let His love shine through you so brightly that others can’t help but notice.
So go ahead, girl…let your light shine!
Until next time, shine bright, sisters-
Not for praise, but for the One who saves.
